Conflict is part of our daily lives. Because we are complex and competitive, we each have our own ideas, opinions, and needs, and how we deal with our differences with others can determine the quality of our lives. Topics will include understanding the nature of conflict and identifying ineffective approaches to conflict. Effective communication requires an awareness of language, which includes the spoken word as well as body language, as well as active listening. Thriving with Change
The only thing constant in life is change. Topics will include a discussion and discovery of how we are each affected by change and the types of organizational changes that occur in the work environment. Taking a tip for geese that fly in a V-formation, this session focuses on how we can provide uplift for our followers and understand the direction we are going as a team. Successful leaders not only envision a better way forward; they are able to articulate that vision and enlist others to help achieve it. This session explores the importance of individual and shared vision in advancing the organization's goals. Styles of Leadership
Successful leaders are not all alike, though they may share certain traits. In this program, participants will learn the various styles of leadership and which types offer the most benefits in the workplace. Each participant will develop a Leadership Coat of Arms, express his or her leadership philosophies, and understand why these characteristics and qualities of leadership are valued. Personal Influence
Leaders influence the group consciously as well as unconsciously. With action and inaction, with things said and unsaid, leaders convey to the group what they believe is important and unimportant. In this program, participants will engage in activities that allow them to understand how the conscious choices they make can lead to reactions by team members. Managing Stress with Humor
Stress cannot be eliminated from life or the workplace, but it can be effectively managed. Diet, excercise and rest are important in managing stress, and so is humor! Don't crack up; crack a joke!
